A good friend of mine likes to say

That no one is afraid of dying.

We are, to borrow the title of a book, amusing ourselves to death. And the greatest crime of that is that we rob the world and the people we love of the best version of ourselves.

We reduce our impact and we play small. We settle, instead of growing. We get complacent. We sink into the quicksand of mediocrity.

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

For some people, this isn’t much of a problem. They’re content to stay asleep.

A day spent in procrastination is a day wasted.  Every day you’re not out there learning something new, connecting with your tribe, or building your business, is a day you’ll never get back.
